Amber Amour, 27, who apparently has 20,000 followers on Instagram, go on live in the said social networking site to reminisce a traumatic experience that has happened to her.
She said that she wanted to let other victims have the courage to stand against such experiences.
Amour, who came from New York, claimed that she was raped by a man in a shower of a hostel in South Africa.
She uploaded a selfie of herself in tears while still sitting on the bathroom floor, alongside with a description of what had allegedly happened.
She apparently agreed to take a shower with a man after being really sick for two days but then, she was forced to do the deed.
She tried to stop him but he allegedly just got more violent.
“I asked him to stop, again, as I began to cry,” she said.
She apparently passed out during the rape and when she wake up, the rapist even helped her to finish taking a bath.
She explained her feelings of “shame, disgust, suffering” out of the traumatic experience and the reality of helplessness felt by most of victims.
“I’m here, alone, and any DNA has been wiped away in the shower. The South African police will just roll their eyes when I walk in. Feel sicker than ever now,” she said.
What she aims for going live and in broadcasting her experience is to give courage to other victims to stand up and defend their worth.
“I tell you guys to speak up every single day and I know that I need to practice what I preach,” she said.
“It doesn’t matter if I kissed him. It doesn’t matter if he was drunk. It doesn’t matter if I said yes to a shower. I never said he could get violent with me. I never said he could make me bleed. I never said he could rape me,” she further added.
