Old Inmate Freed After 12 Years, Shares His Family Never Knew of His Imprisonment

A netizen had this intimate chance to encounter an ex-inmate on his first day outside the bars inside a passenger bus.


Angelique Stephanie Pasion posted this odd experience with the stranger who aboard the same bus while she’s on her way to school.


The old guy asked the conductor of the bus if he could get to the city with only P50 at hand.


Pasion handed him another P50 to aid his bus fare.


This let the old guy to open up his life and on where he came from.


Over the last 12 years, he was living behind the bars of Davao Penal Colony (Dapecol) for a sin he claim he was innocent.


All along, his family thought that he is well while working in Cebu.


No one knows that he was imprisoned since 2004 for being forced to confess for a crime he didn’t committed.


He still has a wife, kids, parents and siblings whom he left in Bacolod for more than a decade.


No one ever visited him on his birthday or on special holidays as he still manages to provide with their needs.


On his way home on his first day of freedom, he only has old clothes with him and a certificate of discharge from prison.


This heart-warming story touched the heart of many passengers that they offered him money to help him get home.
